Mauritius PM Pravind Jugnauth on a Visit to India
Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jugnauth will be on an eight-day visit to India from 17th of April to 24th of April.
- On the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he will be visiting India accompanied by his spouse Kobita Jugnauth and a high-level delegation.
- The visiting dignitary will participate in the Ground-Breaking Ceremony of the WHO-Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar on 19th April and the Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit in Gandhinagar on 20th April, along with the Prime Minister of India.
- Apart from official engagements in Gujarat and New Delhi, the Prime Minister of Mauritius will also visit Varanasi during the visit.
Direct Flight under UDAN Regional Connectivity Scheme by Alliance Air
Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia on 17 April 2022 flagged off the first flight from Keshod Gujarat to Mumbai and vice-versa under UDAN Regional Connectivity Scheme.
- Alliance Air has commenced the first flight from Keshod to Mumbai and vice-versa and also inaugurated upgraded facilities at Keshod Airport.
- Civil Aviation ministry is working to improve air connectivity between Gujarat and Mumbai- the financial capital of the country.
- Keshod airport was set up by the then Nawab of Junagadh in 1930 and it will also soon connected by air to Ahmedabad.
- Keshod airport has been revived by the Airports Authority of India -AAI at an investment of Rs 25 crore.
- UDAN-RCS under the National Civil Aviation Policy was launched in 2016.
- The objective of the UDAN Scheme is to connect small and medium cities with big cities through air service.

India has objected to the World Health Organization (WHO) methodology for calculating COVID-19 death toll. In response to an article titled 'India Is Stalling the WHO’s Efforts to Make Global Covid Death Toll Public' published by a United States daily newspaper.
- India questioned the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) methodology to estimate the COVID-19 death toll within the nation, stating that the identical mathematical mannequin cannot be used to estimate the mortalities of a rustic like India which has a big geographical dimension and inhabitants.
- According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India has shared its considerations with the methodology together with the opposite Member States by means of a collection of formal communications together with six letters issued to WHO.
