Supreme Court orders demolition of 10,000 houses in Aravalli forest Land

• The Aravalli Range, oldest folded range in the world, is a series of the argillaceous rocks
• The range has a mix of Saharan, Ethiopian, peninsular, oriental and even Malayan elements of flora and fauna
• The elevation of the Aravalli range gradually rises in the south west Direction
• Aravallis form the skyline of northwest India extending from south west in Gujarat, Rajasthan to North east in Delhi and Haryana
• Aravalli in Haryana- Gurgaon, Faridabad, Mewat, Mahendragarh, and Rewari.
• It is also the most “degraded” forest range in India, according to a study of the Aravalli hills in southern Haryana by the Wildlife Institute of India (WII).
