National Aeronautics and Space Administration, NASA, has criticized China alleging that it is failing to meet responsible standards regarding their space debris. NASA administrator Bill Nelson on Sunday said that spacefaring nations must minimize the risk to people and property on Earth of re-entries of space objects and maximize transparency regarding those operations.

He said that it is clear that China and all spacefaring nations and commercial entities act responsibly and transparently in space to ensure the safety, stability, security and long-term sustainability of outer space activities.

Remnants of China’s largest rocket ‘Long March 5B’ launched last month plunged back through the atmosphere today landing in the Indian Ocean, west of the Maldives bringing an end to the speculations surrounding its place of fall on the earth. At 18 tonnes, it was one of the largest space debris that re-entered the Earth.

China Manned Space Engineering Office today said that most of the components burned up in the re-entry into the atmosphere.

The NASA has come hard on China over space debris issue.
