ITBP inducts first women officers on combat service

The IndoTibetan Border Police (ITBP) force guards the Line of Actual Control (LAC) along the India-China border.
ITBP was raised on 24 October 1962, under the CRPF Act, in the wake of the Sino-Indian War of 1962.
53 officers including 2 women officers passed out from the ITBP officers' training academy located in Mussoorie
The ITBP started recruiting women combat officers in its cadre from 2016 through an all India Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
ITBP already had combat women but only in the constabulary ranks.
