India today reiterated its commitment to environmental and climate causes and pointed out that the government has launched National Hydrogen Energy Mission to fulfill India's commitment at COP-26 of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070. On the second day of his visit to Germany, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh held delegation-level talks with German Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection Steffi Lemke in Berlin.

The agenda of the meeting was an adaptation to climate change, biological diversity, oceans and Artificial Intelligence for environmental protection. Dr Jitendra Singh expressed interest to augment cooperation in this field including model development, application of forecasts in renewable energy and use of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
