Flood situation improves further in Assam

In Assam, flood situation further improved during the past 24 hours. However, situation remains critical in the three districts of Barak Valley. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will visit Silchar again today to inspect the flood hit areas.

Assam government has constituted damage assessment teams led by ministers and supported by the senior secretaries would visit the flood affected areas to oversee the damages.

State government has further expedited the response and recovery services by engaging the concerned stakeholders and deployment of additional resources and support system to the severely affected districts especially Barak Valley in the State.
