Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav: Several events to be held across country to mark the occasion

Maharashtra government will be holding various programmes related to Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav today. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackray will flag-off Freedom Heritage walk from August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai. Freedom fighters will also be felicitated in the programme. 

The Uttar Pradesh government is holding a series of events and activities today as a part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ to mark the beginning of nationwide celebrations of the 75th anniversary of India's independence.  Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will take part in an event at Kakori Shaheed Smarak in Lucknow while Governor Anandi Ben Patel will be present in Ballia. 

In Madhya Pradesh, Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav to mark 75 years of India's Independence is being launched in a grand manner.
 
Madhya Pradesh is organising the Amrut Mahotsava at 75 locations in the state. Programmes under Amrut Mahotsava will also be organized in those places where the immortal saga of the freedom struggle exists besides the district headquarters in the state. State level event is being held at Shaurya Smarak Bhopal.
 
Principal Secretary Culture and Tourism Mr Sheo Shekhar Shukla informed that the mainly identified sites in state are associated with  freedom fighters like Chandrashekhar Azad, Tatya Tope, Rani Durgavati, Birsa Munda and many more unsung heroes.

Principal Director General of All India Radio News, N.Venudhar Reddy will inaugurate an exhibition at Chandmari in Guwahati today on the commencement of 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav' to mark 75 years of India's Independence. The exhibition is being organized by the Regional Outreach Bureau, Guwahati.
 
The Directorate of Information and Public Relation is also organizing an exhibition in Guwahati today.
 
Apart from the main function at Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad,  ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’, will be celebrated through 75 events in Gujarat.
 
The grand celebration at historic Sabarmati Ashram will be attended by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Leader of Opposition in Gujarat Assembly Paresh Dhanani, Union Minister Prahlad Singh Patel and state BJP President C R Patil.
 
The Trustees of Sabarmati Ashram Kartikeya Sarabhai, Shri Amrut Modi, and Dr. Sudarshan Iyengar will also remain present on this occasion.
 
Similarly, the various patriotic programmes will also be conducted at important places in Gujarat such as Rajkot, Mandvi in Kutch, Porbandar, Vadodara, Bardoli in Surat, and Dandi  in Navsari. Beside these, other events such as cultural programmes, cycle and bike rallies, pad-yatras, tree plantations, and craft bazaars will also be conducted from today.
 
In Sikkim, a four-day photo exhibition on freedom fighters is being held from today at Titanic Park at MG Marg in Gangtok as a part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav celebrations beginning today to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.  
 
The exhibition is being organized by the State's Information and Public relations Department. Another event will be held at Manan Kendra in Gangtok, where State Culture Minister Samdup Lepcha will be the Chief Guest. Various cultural performances including a skit of Dandi March and patriotic songs have been planned on the occasion. 

In Telangana, all set for launch of 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav' as part of Nationwide celebrations commemorating 75 years of India’s independence. The celebrations will be held at two places mainly, at Warangal and Hyderabad. State Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan will be hoisting the national flag at a programme at 11 AM in Warangal. In another programme being held at Public Gardens in Hyderabad, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will unfurl the tri-colour to formally begin the celebrations which will continue for 75 weeks across the state.

The Delhi government will kick start the year-long activities to celebrate the 75 years of independence with an event at Connaught Place in New Delhi today. The Delhi Tourism department will organize the events marking the year-long activities. Streets will come alive in the evening with performances hosted in collaboration with the Art and Culture Department of Delhi.

The year will witness multiple events highlighting the city’s role in the freedom movement and its journey in the last 75 years including the vision of Delhi in 2047, when India will complete its 100 years of Independence. The Delhi government has invited people to be part of this celebration and unite in spirit of India’s capital city. The entry to the event will be limited to maintain COVID norms and guidelines.
