UPSC Indian Forest Services 2022 Examination - Registration Begins for 151 Vacancies

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has published notification for the recruitment of Indian Forest Service Exam 2022 vacancy through Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2022. Those Candidates who are Interested to the following vacancy and completed all Eligibility Criteria can read the notification & apply online.

  • Last Date for Payment of Fee (Pay-in-Slip): 21-02-2022 at 23:59 Hrs
  • Last Date for Payment of Fee (Online): 22-02-2022 at 18:00 Hrs
  • Dates for withdrawing of online Applications: 01 to 07-03-2021 till 6.00 PM
  • Date for Prelims Exam: 05-07-2022
  • Dates for Mains Exam: November, 2022

  • Minimum Age: 21 Years
  • Maximum Age: 32 Years
  • Candidate must have been born not earlier than 02-08-1990 and not later than 01-08-2001

How to Apply: Candidates are required to apply Online using the link upsconline.nic.in for Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination which will act as a screening mechanism for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination.
 
Educational Qualification:- 
 
A candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of a recognised University.
 
PLAN OF EXAMINATION:-
 
The competitive examination comprises two successive stages :
  • (i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) for the screening & selection of candidates for Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination
  • (ii) Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates against the vacancies identified and reported for the Indian Forest Service Examination.
Only those candidates who are declared by the Commission to have qualified in the Preliminary Examination in the year will be eligible for admission to the Main Examination.
 
Scheme and subjects for the Preliminary and Main Examination:-
 
PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION :
The Examination shall comprise of two compulsory Papers of 200 marks each and 2 hours duration.
Note :
  • (i) Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions).
  • (ii) The General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
  • (iii) The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English. 
  • There will be negative marking for incorrect answer
  • (i) For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one-third of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.
  • (ii) If a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as a wrong answer even if one of the given answers happen to be correct and there will be same penalty as above for that question.
  • (iii) If a question is left blank i.e. no answer is given by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question."
General Studies Paper-I - 200 Marks - 2 Hours
  • Current events of national and international importance
  • History of India and Indian National Movement
  • Indian and World Geography- Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
  • Indian Polity and Governance- Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
  • Economic and Social Development- Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
  • General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization.
  • General Science. 
General Studies Paper-II - 200 Marks - 2 Hours
  • Comprehension
  • Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
  • Logical reasoning and analytical ability
  • Decision making and problem solving
  • General mental ability
  • Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level) 
MAIN EXAMINATION:
 
The written examination consisting of the following papers:-
  • Paper I—General English 300 Marks
  • Paper II—General Knowledge 300 Marks
  • Papers III, IV, V and VI.—Any two subjects to be selected from the list of the optional subjects.
  • Each subject will have two papers.— 200 marks for each paper.
Note:-
  • All the question papers for the examination will be of conventional (essay) type.
  • ALL QUESTION PAPERS MUST BE ANSWERED IN ENGLISH. QUESTION PAPERS WILL BE SET IN ENGLISH ONLY
  • The duration of each of the papers referred to above will be three hours.
Interview for Personality Test - Maximum Marks : 300

subjects :
  •  (a) Agriculture and Agricultural Engg.
  •  (b) Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science.
  •  (c) Agriculture and Forestry.
  •  (d) Chemistry and Chemical Engg.
  •  (e) Mathematics and Statistics.
  •  (f) Of the Engineering subjects viz. Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering—not more than one subject.
