Navy Sailor (AA & SSR) Feb 2022 Batch – Apply Online for 2500 Posts

Indian Navy has published a notification for the recruitment of Sailor for Artificer Apprentice (AA) & Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR) – Feb 2022 Batch Course Commencing February 2022 for unmarried Male candidates.

Online applications are invited from unmarried male candidates for enrollments of sailors for AA and SSR for 500 & 2000 vacancies (approximately) respectively in the Feb 2022 batch. The vacancies will be earmarked in a state-wise manner. For the total of 2500 vacancies, approximately 10000 candidates will be called for written examination and Physical Fitness Test (PFT). The cut off marks for appearing in written examination may vary from state to state.

Starting Date:- 16-10-2021

Last Date:- 25-10-2021

Pay and Allowances

During the initial training period, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be admissible. On successful completion of initial training, they will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (Rs. 21,700 - Rs. 69,100). In addition, they will be paid MSP @ Rs.5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable) plus 'X' Group Pay (Only for Artificer Apprentice (AA)) @ Rs.3600/- per month plus DA (as applicable) as under trainee and Rs.6200/- per month plus DA on successful completion of AICTE recognised Diploma Course.

Age Limit

  • Candidates should be born between 01 Feb 2002 to 31 Jan 2005 (Both dates inclusive).

Qualification

  • Candidates should possess
  • (a) For AA:-Qualified in 10+2 examination with 60% or more marks in aggregate with Maths &  Physics and at least one of these subjects:- Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science from the Boards of School Education recognised by MHRD, Govt. of India.
  • (b) For SSR:- Qualified in 10+2 examination with Maths & Physics and atleast one of these subjects: Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science from the Boards of School Education recognised by MHRD, Govt of India.

Selection Criteria

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, an exception is being made in the public interest wherein approimately 10000 candidates will be called-up for the written examination and PFT. The shortlisting of the candidates for written examination and PFT will be undertaken on the basis of percentage of qualifying examination (10+2 examination). The cut off marks may vary from state to state as vacancies have been allocated in a state-wise manner.

Written Test

  • The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and objective type.
  • The question paper will comprise of four sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics & General Knowledge.
  • The total number of questions will be 100 and each correct answer will be awarded with 1 mark and every incorrect answer will have a penalty of 0.25 marks.
  • Duration of examination will be one hour.
  • All candidates appearing for written examination would be subjected to PFT on the same day.

Written Exam Syllabus-

English

  • Passage, Preposition, Correction of sentences, Change active to passive/passive to active voice.
  • Change direct to indirect/indirect to direct, Verbs/Tense/Non-Finites, Punctuation.
  • Substituting phrasal verbs for expression,Synonyms, and Antonyms, Meanings of difficult words.
  • Use of adjective, Compound preposition, Determiners(use of a, the, any, etc), Use of pronouns.

Science

  • Physical World and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Motion of System of Particles and Rigid Body/Gravitation.
  • Mechanics of Solids and Fluids, Heat Thermodynamics, Oscillations, Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity.
  • Magnetic Effect of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Current, Electromagnetic Waves.
  • Optics, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiations, Atomic Nucleus / Solid and Semiconductor Devices, Principles of Communication.
  • Metals and Non-Metals, Organic Chemistry, Food, Nutrition and Health, Physiology and Human Diseases, Computer Science.

Mathematics

  • Relations and Functions, Logarithms, Complex Numbers, Quadratic Equations, Sequences and Series, Trigonometry.
  • Cartesian System of Rectangular Coordinates, Straight Lines Family of Straight Lines, Circles.
  • Conic Sections, Permutations and Combinations, Vectors, Exponential and Logarithmic Series, Sets and Set Theory, Statistics.

  • Important National Facts about India, Heritage, and Arts, Dance, History, Languages, Capitals, and Currencies.
  • National : Bird/ Animal/ Sport/ Flower/ Anthem/ Song/ Flag/ Monuments, Eminent Personalities.
  • Common Names, Full forms, and Abbreviations, Discoveries, Diseases and Nutrition, Award, and Authors, Eminent Personalities
  • Spatial, Numerical, Reasoning & Associative Ability, Sequences, Spellings Unscrambling, Coding, and Decoding.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

  • Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test (PFT) is mandatory for selection.
  • PFT will consist of 1.6 KM run to be completed in 7 minutes. 20 Squats (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.

Merit lists for AA and SSR will be prepared based on performance in written examination subject to qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT), as follows:-

  • AA - Top 600 candidates (approx.) on all India order of merit, who meet the eligibility criteria for AA will be issued call up letter for Enrollment Medical Examination at INS Chilka
  • SSR - Approximately 2500 candidates will be issued call up letter for Enrollment Medical Examination at INS Chilka on the basis of state wise merit.

Note:- The cut off marks for issue of call up letter for Enrollment Medical Examination at INS Chilka may vary from state to state for SSR entry.

Medical Standards:-

  • The Medical examination will be conducted by authorized military doctors as per medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to sailors on entry.
  • The minimum height required will be 157 cms.
  • The minimum chest expansion should be 5cms.
  • The candidates are required to have good mental and physical health and are free from any defects, which are likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties both ashore and afloat under peace as well as war conditions.

For this entry, the candidates can apply ONLINE ONLY on the official website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in from 16 Oct 21 to 25 Oct 21. The procedure is as follows:-

  • Before filling online application, keep matric certificate & 10+2 mark sheet ready for reference.
  • Register yourself on www.joinindiannavy.gov.in with your e-mail ID, if not registered already. The applicants must ensure that while filling their Application Form, they are providing their valid and active e-mail IDs and mobile numbers, which should not be changed till selection procedure is over.
  • 'Log-in' with the registered E-mail ID and click on "Current Oppurtunities".
  • Click on 'Apply' button.
  • Fill up the Form completely. Before clicking the 'Submit' button make sure all the details are correct, all required documents are scanned in original & uploaded.
  • Online applications will be further scrutinised for eligibility and may be rejected at any stage, if found ineligible in any respect.
  • Photographs - Good quality photograph with blue background to be uploaded.
  • The application may be uploaded from Common Service Centers (CSC) across the country, against fixed fees of Rs.60 + GST. This facility is entirely optional
